Hey,

The Six year program in English is similar to the the Polish six year program. The quality of education is pretty much the same. Though you have to put in a lot of effort yourself. On the student website there is some six year students you can contact for more info if you want. Warsaw is currently in the process of applying for accreditation in CA. Right now they are in the paperwork period. So they are sending documents back and forth with CA Board. Hopefully they will become accredited because we have some students from CA that want to be able to practice there in the future.

Student website again: www.medicaluniversityofwarsaw.prv.pl

See ya,

Also Szczecin from this year will have dental studies ( the curriculum):

Besides these 3 universities ( Poznan, Szczecin, Lodz) also Wroclaw.

Medical University of Warsaw

There have been a few issues that have been cleared up regarding financial aid (specifically Stafford loans). These were based primarily on bad communication on the school's part and Sallie Mae's part. All students from my class who applied eventually received their loans, but they had to cover expenses themselves at first. This was my experience, but it certainly does not apply to many of the other students.
If you are considering Warsaw, I suggest you ask as many questions as you can and DO try to visit before matriculating. The city is a very different environment from what many students are used to in the US, and there will most likely be a bit of a culture shock to those that have never been outside of the US. Some might regard this a good thing, as it is just another experience which will potentially lead to personal development and worldly insight. The same applies to almost all eastern European schools/cities though.
The English program here is a very solid one, as the six-year program has been around for awhile, and was a launching pad for the four-year program. They take a lot of pride in their eduction and always work to improve the quality of the program (especially with the new dean of the English Division).
As for the transfer question. I know that students have transferred individual credits in the past or entire academic years. I personally know students who have been exempted from immunology, biochemistry and a few others due to previous courses they have taken. You would need to talk to the program head of that subject (and the dean's office) and provide documentation you have had these courses and they might have you take a test or just talk with you to make sure you are versed in that area. Many professors treat the education here very seriously (a very good thing) so they want to make sure the students they are graduating have the proper knowledge expected of a good doctor.
Hope that helps!

I understand that the application for the 4 yr program requires an undergraduate diploma, but does it need to be the original? Or can I just mail a copy of the diploma?

They just need a copy of your original diploma, but I think you can do with out it if you have lost yours. The more important thing then that, is a sealed official transcript from your school. All the best,

i have been following the growth of the website and i have to admit it looks good now.
Very good info and nice fotos.I am leaving to Wawa myself for the 6 year program in Polish (will be taking entrance exams july 3rd and 4th). I was planing on UJ but then i got a very nice job ofer in Warszawa so i changed my mind. Anyways congratulations on a nice web and keep up the good work. This school needs some more exposure. A lot people either do not know about it or think it's not legit, when in fact this is one of the very best schools in Poland. I wouldn't be surprised if Wawa gets Cali aproval sooner then other big two. Though if i get into Polish program i do not have to worry about Cali but others still have to so i guess would be easier for all this way
