Volunteering In A Pharmacy. What Should I Expect?

I will be volunteering in the Pharmacy of my local hospital tommorrow. Does anyone know of the type of tasks I will be expected to do. Any input will be appreciated. Thank you.

I suppose it really depends on what the person 'in charge' wants to expose you too. Would be good for you to inform us on what it was you did, once you have done it .

Back in HS, I volunteered in the hospital pharmacy (before I got smart and switched over to the ED), and basically I did the menial tasks that the people getting paid to be there didn't want to do, like:

-Pushing med carts up to patient care floors
-Filling oral syringes with PO liquid meds for peds
-Refilling the medication-dispensing "robot"
-Entering medication charges into the billing system

Really good if you don't want to interact with patients, but kind of boring otherwise.
