Volume of distribution
DrugXis given IV using 2 different regimens to same patient on 2 different occasions. Both times there is no measurable amount of drug in plasma prior to its administration. On both occasions volume of distribution of x is 0.85L/Kg and plasma half life is 6 hours.
Reg A: continous IV infusion of 10ml/kg/hr without any loading dose. Reg B: Loading dose of 50ml/kg by rapid IV infusion followed by continous infusion of 10/ml/kg/hr Using Reg A, Plasma conc of x after 48 hours was 100mg/L one compartment, first order pharmacokineticscan be assumed. Q: Plasma conc of x after 48 hours , using Reg B is closest to A: 50mg/L B: 75mg/L C:100mg/L D:125mg/L E: 150 mg/L |
