newborn wieght loss question

Our new born wieght 8lbs 5oz at birth. We have been breastfeeding and 11 days later at a doctors appointment the wieght was 7lbs 15oz. And now it has been three weeks and we got a scale from Babys R' Us and the wiegh is down all the way to 7lbs 8oz. We plan to go back to our pediatrian on Monday, but what should we do now? Is this a sign of major problems?

it is perfectly normal for a baby to lose weight in the first 2 to 3 weeks, after 3 week period they start gaining weight, this is normal and expected. the theory is that the baby loses some water weight post-birth. you can double check the values online, search for "neonatal weight loss" or something...

p.s. - also keep your appointment with your pediatrician because he obviously knows a lot more than I

QUITE NORMAL

Return the scal, the scale is never ever your friend

Your lovely babay is now enjoying, more stimulus, movement and interactions. There for an INCREASED METABOLISM.

Be sure mama is getting in lots of good fats like EVOO,avacados and nuts. Plus consider increasing H2O so that milk production is ample.

All will be well.

I'd be more concerned about imms and vaccs then I would be about weight.

Hi guys how a re you I saw your post and I wanted to share something with you

my daughter Lilah is three years old..

She was having problems with Asthma and kept developing skin rashes ... Not sure if they are related but anyways I heard of that Acai Berry thing and looked it up on the net and all I have to say is whatever anone says that's bad about it is WRONG .. Lilah is living proof that it can reverse all sorts of things even ASTHMA!!

All of her skin rashes are gone ( Was just major case of Eczema) and she hasn't had an asma attacj since I have been giving her a small dose of the drink everyday,, I have the link here somewhere my Grandma sent it to me because she was using it because of her fibromanalga and it got rid of that too..
