Your neibor tells you that:

A 10 Year old boy has been having bellyaches for 2 years. They occur at night as well as during the day. Occasionally he vomits after the onset of the pain. Occult blood have been found in his stools. His father also gets frecuent stomach aches.

The most likely Dx Diagnosis is:
A-Peptic Ulcer
B-Appendicitis
C-Meckels diverticulum
D-Intussusception

I think it's (D) intussuception

I don't think 10 yr old would suffer from peptic ulcers (even with + family Hx). Appendicitis pain wouldn't cause belly aches for 2 years (it's more acute than that). The kid is too old for meckels, and it is usually painless.

Edit: I just did a similar question on UW. I now think the answer might be (a). Intussusception is usually an acute/sudden condition. This kid has been having belly aches for 2 years. Also there is a family hx. So maybe peptic ulcer (a)?? But usually pain of peptic ulcer is associated with meals...not sure.
