Jonny's story

Jonny, a four year old boy was normal at birth, but since few months got up from the floor with the help of his hands, both of them ,he placed on his knees for support, while getting up. He also had waddling gait.His calfs looked big. The doctors said that his shoulder and pelvic girdle muscles are weak.

Q1 What kind of disease it could be?

A] Autosomal dominant
B] X linked
C] Autosomal recessive
D] Autoimmune.

Q2 In the biopsy what finding can be expected?

A] Absence of dystropin
B] Increase amount of myotonin
C] Decreased amount of myotonin
D] Increased amount of dystropin

Q3 He grew up until he was 15 yrs old....but was gradually getting more weak, then he had taken up a wheel chair for moving around.Finally he died.What could have been the reason for his death?

A]Respiratory failure.
B]Heart failure
C]Kidney failure
D]Liver failure.

resp. failure his muscle are to weak for him to breath.

Becker's dystrophy looks like that and is less severe ....as here the dystrophin is present but is defective.

myotonic dystrophy?????just tell me the answer right now....impatient to know
