Thread: DO Accepted

If you get accepted to DO school would you take the offer or sit out another year and wait for MD school to come calling?

Take it, Take it!! DO and MDs do are equally trained. Don't let time slip by, every day that goes by is a day you will never get back.

DO's are probably better trained for primary care than MD's. However, many people still are not familiar with DO's and there will always be questions as to whether you are equal to an MD. Also, there are more residencies available to MD's. If you had any interest in practicing out of the US, the MD is recognized worldwide while DO is not. The other countries that license DO's (mostly UK related) give them a limited license, similar to DC's.
