First Post...

Hey guys, I was looking for some opinions since I think many of you know more about this that I do. I am currently a master's student at Binghamton University in upstate NY. I had a 2.97 undergraduate GPA and around a 3.45 graduate GPA. I haven't taken organic chemistry yet but I am taking it this summer. I am also registered to take the MCAT this summer and am expecting to score in the mid to high 20s based on my current practice test scores.

My question is, would I have a chance at any D.O. schools based on these stats? I have a lot medical experience working for my father who is a doctor and I am shadowing a D.O. this summer as well.

My graduate degree is in environmental science and I have taken many science classes such as geochemistry, geophysics, marine biology, palio-biology.

Thanks in advance for any advice I may get.

If you look at individual school sites they usually tell you their average incoming class stats.

For example:

Quote:
Successful candidates typically have both science and overall grade point averages of 3.2 or above.
Quote:
Successful candidates typically have a mean MCAT score of 23.0.
Admissions Requirements - L|E|C|O|M - The Lake Erie College of Medicine

I havent applied to any yet, but if I was in your position I would def try out. I dont see a reason why not to.
