sure at UWI but where would you be wanting to use the degrees? The dental degree wouldn't be recognized in the US and you would have to go to dental school again. OD degree could be recognized.Originally Posted by myturn

dental and optometry schools are not that hard to get into in the states.

yea optometry school is fairly easy....dental is alittle harder...not worth going out of the country for...especially dental...you wont get to work back in the states....

The challenging thing about obtaining dental school acceptance is that usually on average, a school accepts 30-50 students versus 120-165 in a US Medical School....

Yes, I know, there was a NP in my class that was accepted to Boston U, for DDS program, but chosed to attend UHSA for MD Degree, regardless, she is now a practicing FM.....I think it is all depends of what you want to do ?
FM is very diverse and you can treat so many conditions, while as a DDS, you are limited to "Oral Cavity" so say goodbye to everything else you learn in the basic sciences
BUT, DDS good lifestyle, no residency, and good pay, private practice business model.
MD, BUSY lifestyle, hard residency, pay is average to good, and you can work anywhere
UHSADOC, BSc, MPH, MD, DAAFP
UHSA, School of Medicine, Alumni
ECFMG Certified, Family Physician
