Career Satisfaction of Naturopathic DoctorsWill I be happy with this choice long-term? ![]() Not surprisingly, 78% of the doctors surveyed said that they are not only satisfied with their work, but that they actually love their work! And as with income satisfaction, ND job satisfaction also increases with experience and years in practice.4 Only 1.7% of all ND respondents indicated that they were dissatisfied with being naturopathic physicians.4 Compare that response to a recent Harvard study of over 12,000 MDs, 18% of whom said they are dissatisfied with their careers.5 "I think one of the great strengths of natural medicine is our ability to understand why people are sick and deal with the underlying cause of their illness. More and more, conventional medical doctors are getting frustrated with drugs, because, by far, the majority of drugs only relieve the symptoms – they don't deal with the underlying cause of why that person is sick."
