    According to the American Heart Association, nearly one in three adults has high blood pressure. But most of these people don't know they have high blood pressure, because it's a silent disease. People can have high blood pressure for years without experiencing symptoms or knowing they have it.

    One in three is a very high number! It is certainly true that BP has to be kept in check, and continuously monitored. I doubt if all regular medicines have undesirable side effects *all the time*. It depends on a host of factors.
