Anyone in for May 07?
Hello everyone..just wanting to know if anyone applied or been accepted to the pre-med program for May 07? I just sent in my application..
i think i applied well in advance so i shouldnt have a problem but one of my friend applied a month ago for Jan 07 but didnt get accepted...reason being the letter read its getting competative and that they only admit 30 students per semester for pre-med. Anyhow i hope i applied early enough. If i get an interview..will post a new thread with more questions.. Thanks for the input. |

look at May 07 in the MUA Nevis med, you'll see some people who applied for med but got offered pre-med. I think there's more than 30?
What's your goal in starting this thread? Help on interviews, reads on the situation? I know Jan 07 med filled up a month ago, and is now beyond waitlisted. Did your friend get offered May 07? Or just a letter of non acceptance based on not being competitive? I think you definately applied early enough, if Med 1 is any indication, they are still ample spots open in that for May 07. You can ask the admin office in Gardner and they won't give numbers but they will tell you roughly. Good News: they are very quick in responding to app. package for interview (maybe a week or 2 in my case), and interview for acceptance pack (3 days). Good Luck. Well my friend's stat were that he had above 3.0 GPA and he had a B.S or B.A. not sure which one in Health science. He called and asked if they could accept him for May semester, but they told him to take the MCAT, then he might have a chance. I thought you didnt need MCATs for pre-med? I am confused what could be the reason. My ultimate guess is that
he applied too late and they just arent interested anymore. He applied on Aug. 15th for Jan. 07 semester. But i am not sure why they didnt just accept him for May semester. As far as my situation. My package was delievered to them this morning and i just recieved an email that they recieved it and forwarded it to the Admisison Committee. But please give me an idea why my friend got rejected? Because his situation puts mine on the edge as i am very nervous. My main point for this thread is because i am curious about my friend's situation and nervous about mine. I need to ask some interview questions but i will only be able to ask them if i get accepted. Will wait for a respond...Thanks. |

HI Paki,
Not to worry. I have a VERY STRONG feeling that your friend is not telling you everything. None of his experience sounds right. They don't require the mcat for Med year 1, much less pre-med. Maybe he has the school mixed up. They always suggest or offer the next semester if one asked for is full or filling. Do you know you are posting on MUA, not AUC or SGU or Ross? They require mcats. Just wanted to be sure. I will keep responding. You may pm me. I undersand you probably don't want to call the MUA admin office with a bunch of these questions, because they do sound odd. But they are really normal seeming people. Maybe a bit non-descript at times, but they aren't owing anyone a clear answer on admissions, it is case by case. People think MUA is a slam dunk, but I think the sun is setting on that. Here's a though, did your friend have a bunch of imcpompletes or f's, or a lot of school changes. That is often a huge red flag. I can't tell you exactly why he got rejected, but I would just sit tight and don't worry. Don't mean to be patronizing, but if you are younger, you may not have learned yet that even friends get awfully embarrassed about some hidden truths in their lives. I have a feeling your friend is not being totally honest with you. Just my 2 cents. Keep in touch. If you don't get a response, pm me. I don't seem to get notified of posts on my subscribed threads until after I respond to them sometimes. Chris |
