I think you are making the right decision. You will be strong and ready when you get to MED 1.

good luck.

You are probably right about it being easier to adjust to studying in premed I. I have not studied in quite a while and will need some time to adjust to studying and life on the island. I am just excited about being accepted to med school. I want to thank you all for your responses.

i got in for Med 1 sept 2006 with no organics. just have to complete them this summer with C+ or better. So I doubt its the organic thing. Sometimes its just grades that affect your placement

I agree with Taare. By completing the Pre-med program, you'll be well prepared for the MD program. I just got accepted to the Pre-med 1 for Sept. 06 and I can't wait to start!

i think starting in pre-med I is good for those who either dont have the best grades in the basic sciences or havent been in school in quite a while.. it is only a few months extra and it seems like they give u a good foundation to begin the basic sciences.. the classes are also taught by the basic sciences professors so i hear, and it gives u time to get used to the island life, being away from home etc..

congrats to all of those who were accepted!!!

I too was recently accepted into Pre-med 1 for Sept. 06'. 24yr/old Female from Lancaster, Pa., between blueball and intercourse.....Amish country...I'm not Amish, of course!
The interview went very smoothly......like most people already stated, it seemed they made up their minds about admitting me before the interview took place. Just be calm...I took previously asked interview questions from the interview sticky and prepared answers for them....wasn't totally necessary, but made me feel more at ease. And, usually at the end of the interview you'll hear a phrase such as: "we'll see you on the island" or "we'll be sending out your acceptance packet as soon as possible".
Good Luck to those of you who are applying/interviewing!

AUA premed is longer than MUA. Mua's is only 2 semesters. I believe AUA has a 4 semester premed. Secondly, MUA just got NY approval. Has a proven track record and is the same management as SABA. For me I didnt want to spend any longer in premed + its a better reputed school.
