It's amazing that no one posted up any experiences from JPH at chicago. That speaks for itself I guess. I wasn't too impressed.

In alll of my cores, its been the cheif resident who's been responsible for compiling the exam, and supervising it...

In 2 of my electives, it was the attending physician...

hi lakersDC,
i'm starting in may too, same location but no ones told me much about the place either. So far i know that the hospital is a pretty good one and perhaps it would be fun to get there and find out.
Oh yeah, things are quite expensive over there.
My biggest thing right now is moving my family from here to there, a rather big change i suppose but things could be worse.
Goodluck, we might even end up at thesame hospital.

Also, magicalMe, don't wait on Rajesh, he's probably really busy.....i e-mailed him tons of questions but got no reply.
if i find out more things, i'd let u know.

So far, i'm in ireland and somewhat settled down now.
student mostly start here with internal medicine or surgery and then move to other areas from there.
Internal medicine is alright, you get to learn a lot from rounding plus you get tutorials that can help in strenghtening your weak points.
I personally like it so far especally since my coordinator does ask a lot of questions... the questions are very good for motivationg you to study but it's ok if you don't know the answers. You'd be told and can also look up the answers.
Ireland is nice place but it rains often so you might need an umbrella around here, otherwise good weather. One can pretty much find their way around this place just like in New York city with the exceptions of very tall buildings but quite frankly, it's more or less a small town in my view.
The people are quite nice or even friendly and if you simply do your thing and offend no one, you'd be fine;in fact no one would bother you at all.
The other students are very nice and they'd help you out when you need it so you'd be quite alright.
With that said, unless you have specific questions, you can always pm.
