Aloha,
I am not aware of this, but I can't verify this one way or the other. My husband started in Houma in July, and more MUA students are coming in August. One of his classmate started at the same time, her rotations in Houma would last till sometimes next year.

I can only comment on the living part. It is a smaller town compare to those mega cities, but still bigger than I expected. Have all the big stores here like 2 Walmarts (24 hrs), Office Depot, Home Depot, BestBuy, Kmart, Target, etc. Somehow lots of car dealerships here. Quite a few big supermarkets, and of course many fast food chains & different kinds of restaurants. There is also a shopping mall, but not big though. I feel Houma is hotter than Nevis maybe there is less breeze here. There is a YMCA here and it offers discounted monthly membership rate to students. People here seems nice too, especially to medical students.

What?

No MUA is still here, AUC will not have students here in Homa after the current ones leave. Basically the only students we have here are from Saba and MUA and we are definately not going anywhere. We are well-liked by administration. I love it here. Glad I came.
