Thread: Living and Info for Jackson Park Hospital in Chicago

Eh. Im Going to be moving to Chicago for most cores as of August 27th... any suggestion on nice living situations apart from the one directly across the street? I wouldn't mind renting a fully furnished condo 5-10 min drive away from the hospital.

Is anyone there right now that can support some positive feedback about any of there rotations?

I just returned from checking out Chicago and finding living in fair proximity to Jackson Park Hospital.

Suggested residences include:

in Hyde park 7 min away from JPH )
Regency Park
Mayfair

In town : (15 min from JPH)
1212 on South Michigan
1130 on South Michigan

I went with 1212 South Michigan because I prefer the city.

Im at JPH right now and about to finish up...i have atlanta next and would hand over my lease to you(i got 5 months left on it)...you have to know a few things about JPH area before you come in:

Area around jackson park hospital is pretty rough, wouldnt recommend living there. Thats leaves two options:

1. Hyde park area: This is Univ of chicago area, which is very well patrolled, its sort of an oasis in south chicago with student ammenities int he area. Its a 10 mins drive, or about 2.5 miles from JPH. Rent ranges from 650 for the crappy apts to 1250 for the best luxury building. I have a studio at the Versailles apartments. I have a large studio,comes with a fridge. everythign but internet is included. the rent is 740/month for UNFURNISHED. Now you can can get the room furnished by the managment for an extra 10 or 15% of the rent, nto sure, but roughly a 100 dollars. I can leave my stuff here(study table, futon, another table, microwave) when i move out and ill charge you a 150 for it. The building is very clean, with security attendant and lots of U Chic and JPH student here.

2. Downtown chicago. the south loop of downtown chicago is about 9 miles from the hospital. The rent is alot higher though, you are looking at 1400+/month easily and it goes upto 2500/ month. but surprisingly alot of students have that kinda money.
