Same with Jennifer, I took the CS before CK. Took me only a week to prepare for it and passed it well. I think it was because I never really complained and did as many HnP's as much as I could during all of my core rotations. I think the school policy is good advise. I know some students that didnt make it through the CS on first attempt. I dunno why...but the only way you would fail the CS is if you have not done enough clinical exposure. If you really think about it, it's just a matter of taking a history, doing a focused exam, then making sure you have not missed anything in order to come up with a reasonable differential dx and subsequent work-up...all under a certain period of time. If you have done enough clinical exposure it really comes down to ...... trying to eat a big slice of german chocolate cake in just under 30 seconds!!! I dont blame the school for setting such policy. Remember they have to make policies to cover the whole studentry not just you.
