Thread: Starting rotations and need some advice

So I recently passed Step 1 and got my schedule for my rotations. I'm set to start in a couple of weeks and I can't believe how much I have forgotten over the past month. Its actually kinda scary that I don't know my pharm/path and micro as well as I used to. Any words of wisdom from the OGs on here? I could really use some "its going to be all right" haha

Congrats, one hurdle down .

Relax, buy FA for the Wards and start reading. Have fun in clinicals, its a totally different ball of wax than basics. Enjoy the time off until then.

Thanks for the reply. Any tips on how I should go about re-learning PD related topics such as history, PE (I assume there is no formal training) etc? Thanks.

Congrats..I apologize for not keeping this thread to the topic but could you please answer few questions regarding the clinical situation at MUA which will help me make a decision on MUA...How long did wait after passing the step to get your rotations scheduled? Did you get all the rotations schedule at once? Did you have any preferences to where you want to start or you were to open anything/anywhere?

Vick, the answers to your questions are: With in a month (scores take 3 weeks to get back), yes and yes. Just make sure you do well and get everything done on time. It will open many doors. But for now, please don't worry about clinicals, they change very often and its the same deal for every caribbean school. Focus on doing well, and the rest will fall in place.

Now, back to the thread --> Any ideas on how should I review PD and ICM related topics such as DDx, PE and Hx? Thanks in advance.

FA for CS will get you going on the important stuff, the rest will come as you progress through cores.

Congratulations! You are doing MUA proud contributing to that % of first timers passing USMLE step1. I presume MUA shows their appreciation by getting your rotation scheduled with no undue delays.
