Thread: Workload in Clinical Rotations

Hi everybody, was looking for some information on clinical rotations. Just wondering if someone could comment on the workload in clinical rotations. How does the pressure compare to basic sciences? I am in now way averse to working hard and extracting as much learning experiences as I can, but I'm just curious as to what I should expect? Will I be in the hospital for eight hours a day and then have to study for 5 hours a night, like I am now? Thanks for your comments.

It all depends on what rotation you're on. The days can be long in rotations like ob/gyn and surgery, but for the most part, most of that time is spent waiting around. You will have ample time to studying during the day. You won't need to study 5 hours a day during rotations. There's no point in doing so. You'll be tired anyway. Rotations aren't hard at all.
