Thread: Wait between end of clinical rotations and residency

Hey everyone...I searched the forum but unfortunately could not find the answer to a question that I had. Say you finish all your clinical rotations by September and finish Step 2 CS/CK as well (I believe that is the time when we apply for residency), what do students normally do from September - March (7 months) while the whole matching application process is going on if they have finished rotations and all the requirements for the M.D. degree? Do they do more elective rotations? I would hate to think they just sit at home waiting for 7 months.

im not sure if fully understandt he question,but i would guess you will be doing your ELECTIVE rotations....ppl usually write their step2 and apply after their CORE rotations.
