For your clinical years do most people tend to stay in the same place during these years? Meaning, are you constantly traveling to places and have no real "home base" at a particiular location in the US? I know there is some travel involved during these years I'm just confused whether people are expected to live out of a suit case during these years.

Everybody's experience is different. It mostly depends on whether or not you want your rotations to be all-greenbook or not. If you don't care about greenbook, it's very easy to have all your rotations in one place for 2yrs (eg. Chicago, Greeley).
I did care about greenbook, so I ended up moving every 4-5mths. It's not as bad as it sounds; I got lots of experience in different hospitals.
