Need some advice....pls enlighten me

Our members don't see this ad.
Hi all,

I am an IMG finishing my intern yr in IM and am very dissatisfied and wonna switch to anesthesiology. I will be applying this September to the match and will be free until 7/1/10. I looked on the Federation of State Medical Boards and only Wisconsin and Peurto Rico grant licenses to IMGs with 1 yr postgraduate training, the others between 2-3yrs.

So my question is do you guys think it would possible for me to get a temporary hospitalist, IM, or locum job? Do you know who I should contact? Thanks. Any peices of advise would be greatly appreciated!

Regards!

How to stop staring at my laptop screen?

Hi, I just have one wish, to unplug from the web and come back into the real life! Where is my blue pill?I'm a 21 years old massagist from NY, and when I come back after work, tiered from standing all day long, I just turn on my laptop, and suddenly, it's 2 am. How do you manage to keep your offline life, when you have a pc at home?My obssesion is icq, blogs, myspace and any web place where you can meet interesting people. Forums are new to me, but I thought to give it a try.ps: I'm a total newbee at forums, so I'm sorry if posted in the wrong place, just got here and saw this one.. Please be kind to show me the right place where you can just talk with people.

I heard that after I get a Wisconsin license that I might be able to get chance to work in a VA med center or outpt clinic...anybody second that?

(VA is government, so I think any license would suffice, plus their standards are less rigorous)

That is the case with the military (you just need a license in any US state), so I would imagine it would also suffice for the Veterans' Administration jobs.

You can work for a VA, but things are getting more difficult. Insurance plans want to see people who have completed a residency and more are also requiring board certification.

Your best bet is to complete a residency.

finding positions with anything less that a completed residency will prove to be difficult, but is completely feasable. Your pay will drop to about 60/hr for clinic work, but we find positions all the time...its based on how flexible you are in terms of geography. if you have any questions, email me at spencernilssonhotmail.com i can find jobs anywhere, but recognize without a BC, you will be viewed by clients as a step up from a mid level, and may not get every position available...its possible, just not easy.
