Other than the bigger city, what exactly are you expecting to see change when you get to Warsaw? It is still Poland. It is still the East Bloc. There is no seaside.

(FWIW, I don't know where you want to work, but in general it is better not to change medical schools if you are thinking of applying to North American residencies... it is considered a "red flag.")

If you think you are not getting the education you want then yes transfer, but otherwise i would stay since you made it half way through. the best way to contact will be to call Warsaw medical university. Contact BY PHONE. they are very slow with email responses and you will get a better answer calling in.

    Transfers

A student may come to the University from other school if he/she gets the Dean’s permission and fulfills all the requirements stemming from the regulations of the University he/she comes from.

The decision to accept a candidate who began studies abroad belongs to the Dean’s Council.

Students transferred from other universities that have different curricula can continue studying at a corresponding year of studies on condition that they make up for all the outstanding work. The respective decisions belong to the Dean.

A student who wants to transfer to the Medical University of Warsaw should submit the following documents:

intention letter stating a reason of transfer
original transcript of results confirming year of studies, subjects taken, number of hours, kind of assessment, grades achieved and additionally, in some uncertain cases also the curriculum
diploma with title BSc or BA, pre-med college certificate and official transcript of results (applies to candidates for the 4-year course)
certification (in a form of apostille), if the certificate or diploma was issued by an institution working in an education system of a country which is a party to the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961 on Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents (Journal of Laws of 2005, No. 112, item 938)
    filled-in application form
declaration on the payment of university fee (applicable only to EU and EFTA candidates)
certificate confirming English language skills of the candidate, according to appendix 17 (not applicable to candidates with English as their native language)
    photocopy of passport
    health certificate
six passport photographs 3,5 x 5,5 cm signed on the back
copy of money payment of application fee amounting to 200,00 EUR (non-refundable)
    summer clerkship

Note: In the academic year 2011/2012 we accept transfers for second and third year of 6-year program and on second year of 4-year program. In special cases the transfer is possible to the higher year providing the applicant has studies in the European Union country.

As English Division has limited number of places, we take under consideration only applicants who fulfill all requirements.

All above mentioned documents should be sent between 1 July – 31 August 2011 to the address:

    Medical University of Warsaw

2nd Faculty of Medicine – English Division

    61 Zwirki and Wigury Street
