Thread: 2011 september 6-year accepted students to MUW - common discussion & need help

Hey,

I got accepted to the 6-year program and wondering when the winter semester begins? Furthermore does anyone know when the expected graduation time is?

Here is the tentative schedule for the 2011-2012 school year..and since you're in the 6 year program and its 2011 then you will graduate in 2017....if you manage to pass everything and move along the program with no delay


WINTER SEMESTER – 26.09.2011 – 12.02.2012

STUDENT’S ACADEMIC CLASSES: 26.09.2011 – 18.12.2011
02.01.2012 – 22.01.2012

WINTER HOLIDAYS: 19.12.2011 – 01.01.2012

EXAM SESSION: 23.01.2012 – 29.01.2012

DAYS OFF BETWEEN SEMESTER: 30.01.2012 – 05.02.2012

RETAKE EXAM SESSION: 06.02.2012 – 12.02.2012




SUMMER SEMESTER – 13.02.2012 – 01.07.2012

STUDENT’S ACADEMIC CLASSES: 13.02.2012 – 07.04.2012
16.04.2012 – 29.04.2012
07.05.2012 – 10.06.2012

SPRING HOLIDAYS: 08.04.2012 – 15.04.2012

Is there any spesific date for the graduation time? (needed for formulars etc.)

there is no way to confirm a date for ur graduation now and this early..just go for a date around 24th june 2017..i did the same and im in 5th year of 6 year program.

I have seen the booklist come up a couple of times, but I haven't received it yet. When and how will we receive it and when should we buy the books? Thanks if anyone has any idea and shares it

As a first year student..one tends to buy all books from the list. But it all depends on you. You dont need ALL books, just a few of them. But u definatly need one Histology book, 1 anatomy book(theory..best one is Clinical oriented anatomy by Moore) and u need 1 anatomy atlas (Netter). Also i would suggest BRS Anatomy, which is vey helpful for a quick review.

and also..you can buy the books from amazon or check out bookstores in your country. You can also buy books in Warsaw at different bookstores. You can buy them just prior to the start of the academic year or now. Its entirely up to you!

(for histology text book you should buy the one that is recomended by the uni)

Hi again, one more question: do any of the students use laptops or any other electronical devices on classes/lessons? I have thought of buying an iPad etc. in order to write my notes electronically. So does anyone else do that or should I just drop the idea?

i´d suggest u wait and buy books once uni starts. then u´ll get to meet lots ov students from upper years who can advise u wat to buy.
nd as far as electronic devices..yes ppl do use them..not alot but a few students use. like mini laptops or now lately ipads. the decision is yet again up to u. Its all about what u prefer..
where are u planing to stay in warsaw? did u apply for dorms or u gettin an apartment?
