Hi,
I would like (US based) alumni feedback on their experiences at the Medical University of Warsaw.

you should check out the Hope Medical Istitute website, they are the "agent" or "institute" that is affiliated with this school and if you are American you have to apply through them. i applied to this school and as far a i know they told me they are not accepting applications here, but for you to double check you should call them and ask. check out this comment.....

HMI andWarsaw
HMI and the Medical University of Warsaw are no longer affiliated to the best of my knowledge. You can apply directly to the school (if you can get an app). Do not take HMI's word for anything, unless it pertains directly to them getting money.

MUW is not affiliated with HMI.
1. Prob same as the other polish med schools, altough MUW is one of the better ones (considered the best in regards of its native division). 2. The school is nice, facilities are new and modern, but the departments are spread out in the city. 3. So far (I am half way through 2nd year) I havent meet a teacher I found rude, or unsuitable for his job, I must say that I been pleased with them all, which is more than what I can say of my teachers from i.e. high school. 4. Their English is fine, u dont have to worry about that. 5. Guess depends what university u are comparing MUW with, but all course-literature is in English, mainly from the US. We use the same text books as the ones popular in US med schools. 6. Their are several bookshops in Warsaw which sell orginal language med-literature. Dont think there are many students who buy their books from home. 7. The dorms are not on campus b/c as I mentioned earlier the departments are spread out throughout the city...the "campus" is composed of the rektorat and deans office along with d-center. 8. The dorms are safe, although I think its better to move out from there as soon as possible b/c students there tend to party alot more than they study. 9. I feel Warsaw is a very safe place, dont know what else to say, all the girls at our school seem to feel safe. 10. N/A 11. Not really, like Hu and Cz, the student has to take the responsibilty to prepare themselves. 12. N/A 13. N/A |

Somehow I doubt that's at all true. Tons of european students go for all sorts of exchanges months at a time. They spend entire semesters in other countries. Americans and canadians (studying in Poland at least) go back to n.america to do plenty of rotations.
