510 points Yes, I'm a student here. But 6- year prg. Well the organization can be really bad at times but in general the school is okay. But you spend a lot of time stressing about deans office not giving you notice about stuff in time. It thatyou u get one timetable from deans office saying a class starts at 8 am and when you get there, the department has a different view on it and you actually start 8.30 or 9 am instead.. But if you can live with stuff like that it's not bad![]()
Wawa do you have an idea about clinical settings? Like for instance how far is the technology use, can you understand people(patients, nurses, doctors) talking in Polish, how many cases can you see during a daily rotation, or do they call it round?, during a daily round, how are the diversity of the cases, can you see interesting cases or rather mainstream?
I actually dont ask something specific, just the things I would like to learn are around those kind stuff. Can you talk about your own experiences with your own words? Whatever comes to your mind in the name of clinical experience![]()

Thanks !
I know that most of the students in the 6 year program are from Norway and Sweden. Do you by any chance know the class composition of 4 year MD class ?
510 points Of course almost all profs and assistants have clear polish accents, but mostly there is not problem understanding them. Once we had a really bad one and complained to deans office;-)
It varies when it comes to cases, but I think I've seen a fair share of "cool" cases but also enough mainstream.
But the direct patient contact is limited. Specially if you don't speak polish, since very few patients are able to speak English.
But there are very good possibilities to join doctors in the hospitals outside classes and get your hands dirty. Here you have the chance of really learning what you find interesting and even assist doctors in procedures - of course depending on which year you are on. But to arrange this you have to talk to doctors during the different courses or in the student clubs yourself. But mostly all doctors who teach during the mandatory courses are also willing to have a student following him around outside class. But again - your chanceS are much better if you actually make the effort and learn the polish language.
I really recommend to join student clubs also, as you have much better chance to obtain some practical skills this way.
Of course they teach you all this during the regular classes, but usually there isn't time enough for the whole group (from around 5-20 people) to do a full physical exam on a patient each during a normal class.

The quality schools of Poland are really quality I think.. congratulations for your choice and thanks again... mostly all doctors who teach during the mandatory courses are also willing to have a student following him around outside class...![]()
