As we all know that university lost their subsidized and grad plus loans, will they be able to get them back anytime soon? University asking students to get private loans and we all know interest rate on private loans is really high.

You mean you were trying to tell them that... in your previous three posts, "haysizinformunuza?" Honestly.
Golly, bidiboom, you aren't even able to effectively mask your third VMD identity.
With that nonsense out of the way, I agree -- at least peripherally somewhat -- with our resident conspiracy theorist that the suspension of student loans for Poznan probably makes them a poorer choice for people who want to continue their specialization training in the US. Yeah, they still have CMB, but it would be a lower-level choice unless/until they get their student loan status reinstated. (Still better than my school, because of the CMB issue, but not great at the moment.)

510 points Do you know why they lost the loans? I just got in and now I don't know what to do!
There is a federal government stipulation that a certain percentage of a medical school's students must pass the USMLE Steps in order to maintain loan eligibility. While the school is now at that percentage (according to students there... I have no personal knowledge about that), they fell below the required passing percentage a few years ago with some crappy students, and they are now paying the price.
If you can't get loans, you aren't independently wealthy, and you don't have access to a charitable and rich mom/dad/uncle/aunt/etc. -- then you probably need to find a new school. Good luck to you...

510 points Thanks devildoc. I just confirmed with the university- it is because of the USMLE scores. THey think they may eventually get loans back but who knows.... What I am most terrified about is if they lose accreditation ( right now its all the states) but what if somewhere in 4 years this happens. The reason I picked this school was because they accredited in all of US and the federal loans. I really am worried I will be taking a HUGE risk!
Studying medicine overseas IS a risk, but some schools mitigate that risk better than others. 50 state approval is a big deal, and not all English programs in E-EU have it. Jagiellonian does, and they are better-organized than Lublin, anyway. I would check around and see what your options are. Ireland has outstanding medical schools with overseas admissions, and while they are more expensive than E-EU, they are also infinitely better schools, and they have loans. I wish I had gone there initially, frankly. If you are remotely competitive as an applicant, I would recommend checking out the Irish option (Atlantic Bridge: US and Canadian students studying medicine, dentistry, and veterinary medicine in Ireland) and Jag before committing to a program that cannot offer loans. Just my .02.

510 points Thanks but I am 100% Polish and I have family near by Lublin this is why I wanted to go there. I didn't apply to Jag and now I wish I had. It is too late for me to consider anywhere this year!
Did Silesia also lose loans, assuming you applied through Hope? I don't know, but if not, then maybe you could ask them to change your university of admission to one that still has loan approval and all 50 states. (It is Silesia that is also through Hope, right? I can't recall.)
Good luck, I hope that something works out for you.
