Thread: From Warsaw to Lublin on the 3rd of January (evening)

Hi and merry christmas to all.

My flight is landing in Warsaw 9:50 PM on the 3rd of January from Gothenburg.
I tried to look for train tickets but it seems that the last direct-route train to Lublin is leaving an hour earlier. Thus, I won't be able to go by train, but if there are buses, does anyone know if they go late in the evening just after I've landed?

I'm guessing it's Contbus, either from the airport or from the city...

Yep your options are pretty limited. I am not sure of the bus schedules, but I was once in your position. I ended up calling Voytek (the expensive driver guy) to pick me up. It was like 250 zl. though---- which is a rip.

250, huh? Well, at least it's worth rather than taking the 7-hour-long-two-stops train ride.

I found several websites. If it wasn't for Google Translate I would never be able to go through these, but it's just the confusing layouts that's bothering me...

Night arrivals
If you arrive in Warsaw late in the evening you should know there is no recommended public transportation (train or coach) to Lublin after 9.00 PM. You should either stay for a night in a nearby hotel (there is information about the hotels at the airport arrivals section); there is a hotel at the airport for transfer passengers but that can be taken only before crossing the Polish border (it's about 60 euro/night); the best thing would be to ask the aeroplane crew on late arrival. Alternatively, if in a group, the students could share the cost of a taxi to Lublin, which will be negotiable with the driver and should not amount to more than 250 euros. Licensed radio taxis are recommended (above).

250zl is better than 250Euros

looks like the last contbus leaves waw at 8:20 pm. Give HMI a call, there might be other students travelling that day. If there are, you can carpool to get the best deal with the driver. At the very least, they will give you the numbers of drivers and how much you should expect to pay. It was about 250zl, when i used to do it 2 years ago.
