I always urge students who are considering studying in Eastern Europe NOT to go through an agency (HMI, or any other). If the school requires it, find another school. It is a waste of money to give 5-figures to anyone in this process. You could easily fly to several of the schools on your own, apply to all of them in person, check out the schools and the cities in person, and fly home, and STILL spend less than that amount of money that you'd be wasting on an agency. Seriously, apply on your own. There are students who will help you with the required information on VMD for nothing. I have helped a few people apply to my school, and someone helped me out when I was applying. There is no need to go through any third party. I won't even go into the terrible experiences of my classmates who used an agency, because it is second hand information... but I will say that I'm really glad that I didn't go that route.
