Thread: What is a 4 Year BIS program?

I was on this website to check out the courses for Lublin Med School:


When you look at the timetables located on the bottom, they're distinguished as BIS.... what does that refer to, as the curriculum is much different from the first few course layouts listed?

BIS= begin in spring
In all honesty though, how about looking around the forums a bit, or the school website (or HMI's) before just starting new topics? You're old enough (or should be, seeing as you're looking into med school) to have the basic research concepts down ^_^

and in all honesty, I can make up an acronym for anything nowadays... besides, I didn't find it, so I asked... I see that HMI was clarified in another post, and I needed someone to clarify BIS for me...

sooo chill....!

If your so interested in finding out, why dont you just do a search on older posts. Seriously this question has been asked over 20 times.


Bis= spring
regular 1 in four = starts october

Dont recommend Bis though cause you will get slammed with much more classes than the Fall program.

not more classes, from what i hear... just things being out of order (anatomy) and so on. Also, i think BIS is a far smaller group than the reg course

nothing wrong with BIS class. u actually get an extra 6 months to study for the boards. in terms of matching for residency. classes and exams are all the same amount, just the order of some of them may change.

I prefer things in order... plus a 6-month study/whatnot doesn't look good on your CV despite the potentially better board score.
