hi i came out to lublin out of high school a few years ago so i'll try to help you out. first year classes are pretty easy and chill for the most part with the main exception being general chem, i would say. it's very important to pass that and all your other classes the first time around, as you don't want to have to deal with that 2nd year when you're taking orgo and other harder classes. i don't know if you ended up enrolling in summer classes or not, but it's not really necessary. just keep up with your work from the beginning. its a hard jump from high school bc you have to mature very quickly, bc premed and med classes are very self-study (i def didn't need to self-study in high school so that was a major adjustment). its also tough to move from your parents house to poland and live on your own in poland with no drinking age, lots of nightclubs, and (in the case of first of six year students) a lot of free time. just don't make any bad habits that will stay with you bc remember that you're going to be taking med classes in just two years so now isnt the time to make wrong habits. as far as safety, polish ppl aren't that used to non-white ppl so you'll be stared at if youre indian or just not white (think of a white person going to india and how he would probably be stared at) so get used to that. as far as violence (especially racial), it can be unsafe if it is 4 am and you're at a club and there arent a lot of indians around but there are a lot of drunk polish guys around (thats why indians travel in packs). same with during the day, stay away from alleys and stuff especially if you're by yourself. but all in all, i think that it is safe for the most part. the school, despite what a lot of ppl say on here, is a good school as long as you're determined and do your part in studying. hmi will get a lot of money out of you (more than they deserve) but its the school thats most important. the facilities there are ok, with a couple of the buildings, anatomicum and universum (the two most used buildings) are very new (less than 5 years old), but others very old, such as the buildings where you have your chem and bio classes. the hospitals arent as great as american hospitals and some are better than others but i havent has enough time in there to tell you enough about the hospitals.

i cant think of much else to say about that stuff, so ask another question if you want more information.
