hello all....i have been posting this everywhere but i cannot get enough info on lublin....

which is a better school/program......for MD
lublin or going to a school in carribean?

anybody have an opinion? please

Look through these boards; no one can give you a concrete answer. Lublin goes through HMI, an agent; it doesn't seem that any agent ever gets any praise around here. European programs are not aimed at getting you back to the US, per se, and the Caribbean may help prepare you better for USMLE.

You need to do a lot more research on this for yourself; I see you make a thread in every school's forum asking "which school is better," or "which school is for me?" Only you can answer this; if you want to get back to the US fast, with a guarantee (as close to it as is possible) that you'll be doing clinicals somewhere in the States, than the Carib. is your choice. If you'd rather live in Europe for 4-6 years, go there.

Read around here, there's more than enough info to give you a general idea of what you'd be getting into if you go to Poland.

lublin is 2 yr in poland and 2 yr in US. they are lic in all state but CA. and their usmle records are high.....

Make sure it's almost a guarantee you get those 2 years in the US.

What other information do you need? Sounds like you are pretty confident in this place already. What's holding you back from making a decision?

Lublin is recognized by state of NY, so you can do rotation for more than 12 weeks there which means you can do the whole two years. You need to check with the school for affiliated hospitals.

Yes, I know they are allowed to, but make sure every student that wants to actually gets those rotations; not just a few.

HMI keeps on telling everyone that they have fantastically high first time USMLE pass rates at their schools. As there is no independent verification of this claim, I would take that with a huge grain of salt. Especially, knowing as I do that people who failed out of Hungarian schools ended up at HMI schools. Those folks alone are enough to drive the pass rate down.

Regarding independent verification, the only people who know for certain are the ECFMG and they do not release that information to anyone.

I was going to go to Lublin medical school through HMI but decided to do another year in Canada..and now will be going to carribean.

Both places offer you an opportunity to practice medicine.

I'm from Canada too. If you wanna have better chance of going back to Canada there are two options:

1- DO residency and rotation in the US and then go back.

2- SGU is trying to open up rotation in Canada, which makes the way smoother.
