can someone post any info about the 6 year program in Lublin. How are the profs? how many students? are students able to do their clinicals and get licensed in chicago or new jersey? Would love to hear any feedback from current students.

510 points i jsut applied for that program, guy said ill be in the october session...no one here seems to have any info on it. But my pharmacist was telling me his close friends daughters jsut graduated from there
510 points Can one apply directly. I heard Lublin is "owned" by HOPE Med. Institute?
510 points you can get more info at www.am.lublin.pl
I cannot say anything about their english program but as far as polish one goes it's a very good school. The city is quite nice though if i were to choose the city I would rather go to Krakow or Warsaw since those two are really beautiful cities.
510 points always call the school and inqire about stuff like that...you do not want to pay big bucks to the agent.Originally Posted by Anjaney
I have had contact with one Lublin 6 year student; they are from Scandinavia. Without going into the specifics, they gave me very negative feedback about the program. In fact, this person left the school after a couple months (basically at the last moment before having to pay the tuition) and is starting again at a different Polish school this upcoming year.
Take it for what it's worth, but I would at least try to visit in person (while class is in session) before committing.
510 points I am not sure that I entirely agree with you. IMO, Lublin is a significantly poorer provincial city than the other cities I visited in Poland (including Krakow, Gdansk, Warsaw, and Wroclaw).Originally Posted by farba
They are affiliated with HMI, not owned by them.
as far as the school goes..i have heard mixed things about it..i think your best bet would be to goto the english program in warsaw..6 or 4 because it is the capital city..if you apply directly, not sure about clinicals, but if you apply thru HMI..youll get 2 year clinicals..as far as the city..i have to disagree with some..i lived in poland for 3 years and i thought lublin was great..obviously not as nice as warsaw, krakow, wroclow, or poznan..but its a nice city with its own charm..i liked it..much better than katowice at least..haha..as far as the school goes..heard the education is whatever but honestly..you are choosing a career in europe..you have to work your butt off and make sure you do it for yourself..i went to school in poland and a classmate of mine scored 260+ on both steps..yet i have some classmates that have yet to graduate, and some still that have graduated and still havent passed the boards..you will find a high range of students there so you have to make smart mature decisions..i personally would never go to europe right out of highschool..i always advise everyone to try out college first..and then the american medical system..and then as a last resort, try caribbean if things dont work out..but the big 4..sgu, ross, saba, auc..THEN if that doesnt work out..maybe a 4 year in a polish school..but i still wouldnt recommend it regardless..but as to your question..i think you will like lublin..it has its own charm and the people are very nice from my experience..ive only been there 4 times though..so you may want to ask someone who actually lived there..
510 points Thanks for the info guys..i was also wondering if the english program in this uni prepares its students well for the USMLEs. Do their exams have a multiple choice format or is it geared to prepare the students in a different manner? Because I noticed how their grading system is different..
its multiple choice, they do not prepare you for USMLE, the students go through a 7 or 14 week kaplan course upon returning to the states as preparation for the step 1Originally Posted by spongebob
