Thread: Medical University of Lodz, answers needed from current students!

Hello,

I can't seem to find a lot of current (2005) information about this program. I would like to hear from students who are enrolled, transferred or have been attending Lodz.

IE: The quality of education, facilities, faculty character, living environment etc. And if I might correspond with you it would be greatly appreciated!

Don't know if this will help you much, but I was trying to gather info on U. of Lodz awhile back and this is the thread that I started. I got a few replies that were helpful and even emailed back and forth with a student who had transfered from there because she felt that they didn't prepare you enough for the USMLE. There was one post by a disgruntled student who would probably love to talk with you.

BCKWOOD, i have conversed with the girl you mention i think, she did inform me that the school was good, and the teaching was good, and her only problem was with the USMLE prep. this sound farmiliar?

Thank you Bckwood for your post! I did see the thread, but I don't feel comfortable about knowing about the school based on those two people alone. I am considering the program, and would really like to speak with someone in the program to find what the pro's and con's are. Unfortunately with valuemd and other forums, they have become less a tool for inquiring students, and more of a tool for bashers, "trolls", argumentative and lonely people, thus you really need to speak with people inside the programs to try and find out the facts. Just my thoughts. I think because of the antagonistic nature of these forums, the better students, ignore them and stick to their studies, which I can understand. Still I'd like some context from and contact with current sudents.

Good Luck getting info. If you have difficulty in finding people from Lodz to speak with and are still considering going to Poland, you should look into Poznan. I have spoken to many current students and almost all have nothing but excellent things to say about the program. Also doing a Google search you can find graduates and current residents that are currently working in the US and not only in IM/family practice. Anyway good luck and Happy New Year Everyone!!!!
