I've been talking to AIM (the admissions agency for Lodz) all morning.
Here's some info I obtained (answers quoted directly from emails)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q: What is tuition/fees for students that are not from Poland or Israel?
A: "The annual fees of $16000 is for all 4 years, and it covers tuition and living accommodations, whether it be in Poland, or in the US when you are learning in the teaching hospitals."
Q: Can I live in an apartment or do I have to live in the dorm?
A: "Regarding our fees, ours are around one-half of the other Caribbean schools and other European schools. So the money used for tuition and for apts. are quite low. Obviously, if someone lived there on their own, they wouldn't have to pay for an apt. and some adjustments would be made. But we never did this before, so I don't know what that amount is."
Q: When will the University code be available for Stafford loans?
A: "Since we are fairly new, almost 2 years, our Stafford are expected to be approved in a few weeks now, but as long as students paid their airfare, books and food costs, AIM didn't defer anyone from going, and we have students who have finished 2 semesters already last year, and they are now entering their second year of basic sciences. "
I asked other questions, but it may be a couple of weeks before someone can answer them:
"I am going on vacation today, and won't be back for a couple of weeks"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Apparently some students have attended for 2 semesters without paying tuition because they can't get US Federal loans? Maybe I am misunderstanding. Does anyone have the school code yet?
Also, does anyone plan to get an apartment or is everyone staying in the dorm?
Thanks for any feedback!
