Questions about Silesia
I am hoping some of you may be able to help me decide if i should come to Silesia. Is Silesia California approved? If not, are they in the process of getting approved? What is the tuition for the clinical years if I decide to do my rotations in Poland? What sort of financial aid is available for incoming students (ie, Federal Stafford loans, private loans, etc.?) Is it better for a student to live in the dorms, or would it be better to get one's own apartment?
I am not sure if the clinical rotations that HMI offers in the US are at hospitals affiliated with Silesia. If one does their clinical rotations in the US, does it matter that the hospitals are not affiliated with the school? I mean does it affect one's chances of getting a residency in New York or states which follow New York? And finally, for those of you already at Silesia, would you say that going to Silesia is worth it compared with other medical schools in Poland, like Lodz, Lublin, Poznan, Jag? Also, someone told me that HMI charges an agent fee, but do they charge if one transfers into 3rd or 4th year?
I will appreciate any responses. I am really thinking about coming to Silesia but am not really sure if I should go through HMI. Thanks.
Olddoc...in your post above dated 3/29/2009... you say you are deciding whether to attend Silesia on a Silesia forum and then you come to this forum claiming to be a student of MUL for two years and that you have unbiased view (i'm waiting for those unbiased facts about AIM/MUL)...Please clarify this to the rest of the readers whether that is true or not...I've been reading your other postings...waiting for your clarification
