It's the end of the school year for most in Poland, so they might be slow to respond.

Hi all. I've done quite a bit of online research - seems that Lodz might be the best school for me. Their website gives a lot of info. Do they really have US and UK rotations? I've spoken to the AIM people - they give you a lot of info and seem very helpful. Is it possible to get in without going thru AIM? Any info about AIM or Lodz would be helpful. Thnx.

But do post something, anyone, just to let the rest of us know if MUL (via AIM or not) is in contact (besides that textbook list that was sent out ages ago).
i am confused by your comments are you accepted in MUL? you should have recieved emails from AIM to direct you in everything you have to do, i have sent LOTS of email (with just simple questions like whats the school dress code, visa requirements, to help finding a home) they have replied or called me promptly, they have told me they are extreemly busy. They say this year has doubled in class, about 100 students starting this year and counting, i guess this is good....it means the program must be doing something right to grow that much in such a short time.

Hey Rolff,

Yes it is possible to be admitted without an agency but you cannot get any fafsa loans without AIM. They also have the rotation hospitals set up for us, in the UK and US, so we don't have to find our own...

Good answers

Many thanks, TrustMeImaDoc, for excellent answers to my PM queries. You asked -- I'll be in the 4-yr program. If anyone has specific questions about Lodz, write him and expect a fast reply. (If he laughed at a couple of my maybe sillier ones, he was kind enough not to let on.)

Looking at a couple of the more recent posts by others, I gather that we can expect to spend a LOT of time on the wards compared to other schools, then and have to sit up most nights studying, but hey, that means we get to learn Polish faster, right?

Food, Weather and Baggage

Hi,

I was just hoping current MUL students could answer some of my questions:

1. In the curriculum I noticed that there is 'Physical Education' for credit. Is this like gym class in high school?

2. What is the weather like in Lodz? How does the winter compare to Canadian winters??

3. What is the food availability in Lodz like, compared to Canada (ie: What kind of food do ppl miss most etc.)?

4. Does anyone have any hints as to what to bring with you to Poland and what to leave behind so that you can buy it in Lodz?

5. Due to the baggage limit per person how do students bring things over from NA?

6. Also, where is the best place to buy converters? (ie: in NA or in Lodz when we arrive?)

7. Any suggestions as to what kind of laptop will be most useful in terms of customer service? Also, what features should one look for while buying a laptop suitable for the teaching style at Lodz?

I apologize if some of these questions are silly (which they probably are!).

Thanks very much!

aiyayai, so many questions robin!

ive been quietly following this post (and related ones) for several months now. the consensus i have come to is that although AIM is "sketchy", it is legitimate, and it seems at least theoretically that it would be possible to get clinical rotations in the US after just two years at Lodz. I spoke with a representative yesterday, and with good ol' Peggy today, but she did not want to name any hospitals over the phone.

So I was wondering, could someone who has been accepted (Robin or anyone else) do everyone a favor by posting the list of hospitals affiliated with AIM/Lodz in the Forum?
