September Starting Questions
Any help would be greatly appreciated:
1. How long does it take to get telephone service in a dorm room? 2. How long to get an internet provider? 3. Banking: do local banks offer an online 'bill-pay' service? 4. Rental cars: @ $400/month, what can one expect? 5. Has anyone put together a ". . . wish I had brought THIS . . ." list? 6. Is cellular service available & and what cost? 7. Island insects - - - how bad and what seems to work? Thanks so much to anyone who elects to respond! EB :-) |

September Starting Questions
Quote:
2. You apply the internet same time when you request the phone line. Then you will have the internet when your phone line is set up. 3. No 4. I don't remember now, but is decent. 6. Yes, don't know about cost. 7. Not bad, very much like home. I don't use any insect spray. Most houses have screen. |

Many Thanks
Thank you for taking the time to answer my quesions. A bit disappointed about the time it takes to get a phone, but given that it took over a week here in So Cal for my last phone install, I guess 'Nevis Time' is not that bad.
Thanks again! EB |

Luggage to Nevis
This seems to be the right topic so I have the following question for someone who has already gone through their first trip to Nevis. My son will be starting at MUA in September and since he is still working this summer out of state,I am trying to get some info. for him. What type or weight of luggage can he bring with him? He is flying USAIR from Pittsburgh,PA to Charlotte, NC and then USAIR from Charlotte to St. Maarten. Up to there he could probably bring just about anything and any weight with him. But, from St Maarten to Nevis he is on WINDWARD Airline. Can he take a laptop, a carryon and a large suitcase on the WINDWARD flight? Is there a weight restriction? I could probably call WINDWARD to ask this, but I thought I would ask a current student. Thanks for the help.
