Well they asked me about May '08 in my interview and such, but I told them I had one more year left of college and wanted to complete it. I want to at least get my bachelor's god forbid being a doctor does not work out.

Just had an interview and I don't feel so good about it. Some of the questions that I thought would be asked, were not. I prepared to talk about some of the bad grades that I have (a couple of F's in one semester). Also, they didn't ask me any direct questions about my PS or clinical experiences either. Sigh...I don't know. I'm kind of worried now.
Here are the questions I was asked: 1) Why doctor? 2) Strengths and weaknesses 3) 3 people (live or dead) for a dinner --- sigh, I should've prepared for this one. 4) Terminally ill patient wants assisted suicide --- didn't see this one coming either. 5) Doc friend abuses drug --- same as above 6) What have you learned from all the experiences you have (I have a lot of work experiences in different areas and a lot of healthcare/volunteer) --- This is the hard one cause I didn't know what to say really. There're so many things I've learned but it was hard to just put everything in one sentence. 7) Move around for rotations? 8) If I'm set on working in CA 9) Specialty of interest It was relaxing in a sense that we had some good laughs and they complimented me a few times on my grades etc. I don't know what to make of it at this point. Though, he said they'd sent out everything ASAP. He gave me his e-mail and said I could e-mail him sometime next week to find out (or wait for the mail). You already know some of the questions they will ask. Just say something and you will be fine. Answers to all the questions are here on ValueMD. I don't think they will reject you. My interview was about 40 minutes (I'm not joking), I've got Computer Science background (MSc and BSc).
They said I would be admitted into PreMed (because of my Computer Science background and year of graduation) and I said "No, I want 1st Semester Basic Sciences", because I knew I was talking to human beings,we discussed this and they agreed. Just tell them what you want. Let them know you can do it. After your interview, you don't need to ask people to tell you if they will admit you or not, during and after the interview, you will know. Be positive. All they want to know is your "postal address" where your package will go to, trust me!! If you don't believe me now, you will believe after your interview. Enjoy and read what other people have posted here. Last edited by ayuze86; 10-19-2007 at 03:04 PM. |
