    Great joy to share

I have been longing to post a post like this, and finally God grants me my wish.

My husband just received his Step I score today.... 251/99. And his classmate got 267, I think this is a new MUA record. All along, I wanted to tell people MUA is a good school and here is the proof. Of course, they put in super great effort (& increditable hours ) to make this happen, but it also shows they received an adequate education from MUA. The education and resources are there, it all depends on how much efforts the students put in.

To all of his fellow MUA colleagues who are still on Nevis, good scores are achievable: study hard, be persistent, start early and don't give up (per my hubby); and you shall have a good harvest at the end.

    Cheers

So happy for both of you...

I am so happy for the two R's, both deserved the marks they got...

SKL, your husband may have put in the hours but you deserve a ton of credit for his success, I realise the perseverance a wife has to exhibit when spending such a long time on Nevis...

There are such high expectations of that class and I am sure they won't disappoint...

There were some very hard working students in that batch, one I would consider a match for any at Saba or elsewhere...

They were an inspiration to all at MUA especially those junior to them like myself...

I am sure we will be hearing of many more 90's in the near future as their classmates continue to sit their exam in this coming month...

    Good luck in your rotations...

    ...

Thankyou Amadeus, it looks like you have it all figured out, no secrets in school . We too have strong faith in his classmates, there are many smart and hardworking students. I hope more good news regarding scores will come to the forum as an encouragement to the students still on the island. Hardworks do get payoff at the end.

I also have strong faith for the current students in basic science as I've met & seen many dedicated hardworking & smart students in school. The joy is tremedous especially after 2 years of hardwork, so there would be no regrets as they have put in the best efforts all along.

Per my husband, rotation is much funner and more enjoyable, and you guys will be there very soon.

Good luck guys, the final is coming up soon. Study hard and give your best effort.

    Best wishes.

    reply

He is very busy now, but he has provided one of the term I professors with details of his study methods and books he has used per request of his professor. He is too tired to redo the same thing again. Sorry. When you start at MUA, you should receive the info.

I know that he didn't use First Aid, and he used the Kaplan Reveiw Books a lot starting from Med III.

During the 20 months, he studied very hard aiming to get very good grades at school. You may see some other posts saying school grades are not matters for doing well in USMLE. But we always believe that if one cannot do well during 4 months while only study for 3/4 subjects. How could he/she expects to do well in just a few months (eg. 2 - 6 months) after finishing basic science to prepare for like 15 subjects all intergrated together?

Good luck on your journey, and remember do your best during these 20 months and you'll never regret.
