Thread: Flying to St. Kitts via Miami.

I am planning to leave on August 25th from Toronto. I am looking at the American Airlines flight- Toronto-Miami-St. Kitts. The time connecting time at the Miami airport is 1 hour and 30 minutes i.e. the flight lands at 930 am and the next flight leave at 1100 am. I was wondering if this much time would be sufficient considering the fact that Its the Miami airport. Also, if someone has traveled this route then could you kindly tell me how bad is AA with losing the luggage. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thank you.

From Charlotte, NC to Miami and Miami to St. Kitts..

Im leaving 22nd from Toronto and going str8 to SXM (St. Maarten) and then to SKB. How much does it come to going Miami route?

Oh and AA are pretty good luggage wise (as in they usually dont lose em)

I have never really traveled through the Miami Airport but I would really appreciate if someone who has traveled through could tell if 1 hour and 30 minutes are enough to catch the next flight at that airport. Also, considering the fact that its the same airline for both the flights, do I have to get my luggage re-checked or do I just get it after I land at SKB. Any information regarding this matter would be highly appreciated. Thank you.

Ok, with a little research, you can preclear US immigrations and customs in Toronto airport, when you get to Miami you can go directly to the next gate, so 1-1/2 hours would be enough time. Miami is a large airport so sometimes the walks can be quite far with all the different terminals. As for baggage I would think it would be cleared all the way through to St. Kitts. I have traveled several times from and through Miami, and its fairly easy, however they have moved the gate twice on me, so pay attention to annoucements as well as the flight boards. On your return trip through Miami, you will have to clear immigrations and customs, wait for your luggage and then recheck it, and go through TSA security for your next flight, figure at least 2 hours for that and an extra 1/2 hour prior to your flight time.

The best the I am getting is $999 CAD.

anyone else flying out on the 26th from toronto to charlotte, then to netherlands, then to nevis? nervous as i havent really flown before!

is that round trip? you should be able to get a cheaper flight iwth different airlines..check out kayak.com or my favorite is cheapoair.com ... one way u can get for 300-400 $USD but some flights now have longer connections/wait in btwn flights..AA is alywas the most expensive because it is a solid airline, has fewer flights, and is always higher demand so its flights are first to go..

i baught for 1100$ roundtrip with taxes.
