passing is 187 now and i heard the 2 digit score passing is 76.to get into family medicine, i think passing is sufficient. But bro we are all capable of doing better than that and we will..

per 2007 NRMP stats you should aim for at least the 200 - 215 range to land a decent residency spot. Mean for IMG is circa 215....anything less than 197 might be tough unless you have research background, extra-curricular or advanced degrees etc.

Mean IMG stats: Neurology 221, general surgery 223 .....aim for the stars and hit the moon ...rather than aiming for the moon and falling short of your goal....

yah joe soap is absolutely right.. we have to aim even higher.. like 240-250 , and prepare ourself and study like that and than if you get 220 and up we will still be in good shape.

Aiming Low Generally Isn't A Good Idea

There are a variety of factors that are involved in getting a residency. The basics are passing the USMLE on the first try with 200 or better (first try passing is at least as important as the ultimate score). You may wish to try and contact some of the alumni who have matched in programs you would like to attend.

Study hard. Everyone who graduates is capable of 220 or better.
