I am unclear if they are affiliated with the government of the state of oregon.
The Oregon site is very official. I had several conversations with them regarding when St. Chris was on that list. It had to do with the alleged relationship between SC and St. Mary's. Luckily St. Chris was taken off, but the head of that dept told me that any degree from any school on that list is useless in Oregon. Residency is usually not a problem since you do not need to go through government agencies, but a problem may arise come licensing time. I hope MUA is able to be removed from both states lists.

also on the official website

(Oregon) From the OREGAN MEDICAL LICENSING BOARD not the ODA like above

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Approved School of Medicine (US/Canada)
An approved school of medicine is one offering a program of study in medicine or osteopathy leading to a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy. Such a program must be accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education, the American Osteopathic Association, the Canadian Medical Association, or have been otherwise determined by the Board to meet the Association standards as specifically incorporated into Board rules.

Unapproved Schools in Other Countries

An unapproved school of medicine is one that has not been approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education, the American Osteopathic Association, or otherwise determined by the Board to meet the Association standards as specifically incorporated into Board rules. Graduates of such schools must have completed at least four eight-month terms of on-site instruction.

Approved Schools in Other Countries

The Board has approved some medical schools in England, Scotland, Ireland, and Australia. Contact the Board if you attended medical school in one of these countries.

ECFMG/FMGEMS (Fifth Pathway Training)

Graduates of foreign medical schools must have obtained the standard ECFMG certificate issued by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates. Fifth Pathway applicants must submit proof of passing the ECFMG or FMGEMS examination.

---------------------------------------

i talked to the board about 1 month ago... i didn't mention what school i was from (i'm not at MUA)... all they said is, "be ECFMG certified." that's what is says here too.

We can all speculate til the cows come home, but I have informed the head office in case they do not regularly peruse this unofficial forum, and I'm sure they will look into it right away.
Given that most people on these forums seem to place mua below some schools and above others, it seems odd that so few carribean schools are on that list, particularly the ones 'below' mua.
Therefore, no one be panicking just yet...i'll pass on whatever information i get from the head office.
Does not seem to be much else to say on this, as very little info is present at this time.
Anyway, i'm sure you all have studying to do

You also made the list at Michigan

Michigan

I spoke with the licensing board in Michigan this morning because I live here and am interested in coming back. The representative that I spoke with stated that they do not have a list of unaccredited schools. For one to obtain a license in Michigan, the applicant must have "graduated from a medical education program not less than 130 weeks and from a school that does not award credit for any courses taken by correspondence." Also the medical education program must "include basic science courses in anatomy; physiology; biochemistry; microbiology; pathology; pharmacology and therapeutics; preventive medicine; and clinical sciences completed at hospitals" that are teaching hospitals.
The only list that may have unnacredited schools are for professions like nursing, and not MD programs
I hope this helps.

Michigan accreditation

Note that the list of non-accredited colleges/universities in Michigan that is referred to in these posts is for the Department of Civil Service for the state of Michigan.( yes, go back and read it, it's quite clear).

This "body" would be entirely different than the state medical licensing/accreditation body. No wonder that tz got an entirely different answer than seemed to be originally implied by the panic in the posts.

LESSON: Always read the instructions FIRST. (Remember that in your exams, folks!)

Accreditation

Addendum

For those interested in Oregon, it would be smarter to contact the Oregon
Board of Medical Examiners, whose address can be found here:
