OSAP= Ontario student Assistance program, so yes its canadian and more specifically students from Ontario(good number of canadians)...

Im guessing OSAP listing means schools that are on OSAP list.i called in december and i was told that funding will be available in sept. You might not get the funds right away,it takes 1.5-2 months the first time. There is paperwork involved and even gardner office has to do some paperwork.Ill probably work on the application when i go back in aug.

you can work on your application now and send it in.
and print program information and fill out the top part. Send it into MUA office.

Rest is easy.. just wait until sept!!!

for those are applying OSAP, I heard that your deadline for tuition payment is extended

Ahh OSAP woes, its making me dizzy . I need some help to get a handle on this thing. I would greatly appreciate any input into this matter.

Ok to begin this is my current situation. As of now i have an outstanding osap loan, which was used to partially cover the costs of my undergraduate education.

Now what i need to do is two things. First, apply for OSAP for the upcoming program at Nevis. Second inform them that i will become a full time student starting Sept '08 at MUA so that i don't have to make any payments on the previous loan while i am studying medicine.

And this is what i have done so far. I had called the Student Support Branch at Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. There i spoke with a nice lady named Katie. She told me that September 7, 2008 is the official date when the OSAP application for MUA will become officially available, since MUA will have completed its 10th year. However she forwarded me an Institution & Program Approval Application and told me that I can fill this out and have it sent in if i wanted as many other students had done the same. ***yikes no loan money till after the semester begins

I understand that part of the form will have be filled out and signed by MUA. So i want to know how much of the form i should fill out before forwarding it to Gardner, just the student identification part? And the next thing, once they have completed the form down at Gardner can they simply fax it in or should i send them a pre-paid envelope or something?

The other thing has someone completed the Continuation of interest-free status/ Confirmation of Enrollment form. This would only apply if you had a previous osap loan that you wish to stop repaying during your medical school studies. This form also has sections that need to be filled out by MUA.

Hey harsy, yeah even back home our funds get released after school starts. But back home we would have gotten a payment deferral if we were getting OSAP. Unfortunately the same convenience will not be afforded to us at MUA. I believe we would have to pay out of pocket and when we get the loan MUA will refund that amount.

To try and answer your second question i need some info, are you applying for OSAP for the Sept 2008 semester (are you starting in Sept 08?)

Are you on facebook?
