You can start getting OSAP the minute MUA is approved for it. Even if it's in the middle of the semester, you can still get OSAP for however many weeks remain in the academic year.

A lady at the bank told me that if OSAP is not available you should try for a federal loan since, as you know, in Canada the federal level trumps all others.

The OSAP loan that MUA students get isn't a regular Canada-Ontario integrated loan; it's a solely Government of Canada loan; however we still have to go through OSAP to apply for it.

Funding Available

I finished my application for the 2007-2008 year; got all the paperwork in; now I'm waiting to hear from the Ministry.

Hyloran,thanks for the link.So r u starting in sept?

So the maximum we can get for each semester is 210*13 weeks=2730?

I already have so much on OSAP,but Canadian loans are better than these high interest loans any day.

Actually I'm almost done with rotations (6 more months to go!) The maximum that you can get each year is 210 * 50 = 10400. I'm not sure how long each semester is, but since MUA's academic year lasts for 50 weeks, that's the maximum amount you are eligible for.

Just got my OSAP funds for 2007-2008. Existing students, it's not too late to apply for this year. You can get upto $10920CDN per year (52wks at $210/wk).

harsy, assuming ur starting in jan 2008, we dont get any osap funding until Aug 2008, because MUA has been disapproved from (Aug 1, 2007-July 31, 2008) & will get approval for OSAP after Aug 1, 2008. OSAP is only avail to existing MUA students (ie. they were receiving it last yr for MUA)
