don't forget RBC, BMO and NBC all use the OSAP's master school list to dish out creditlines. If ur skul is delisted by OSAP, chances are all the above mentioned banks might do the same

I was finally able to get in touch with the lady in the OSAP office who deals with school approvals. She informed me that MUA had been taken off the list since medical schools have to be in existence atleast 10 years prior to being put on. She didn't specify as to how MUA got on the list last year. But she did say that they are working to put MUA back on the list and it should be back on there by the end of May. She said that MUA students who currently have loans will not have their loan status affected and will be able to reapply for ongoing loans. She didn't mention anything about new students, but I assume that new students can also apply for OSAP loans once the school is back on the OSAP website.

p.s.: She also mentioned she had numerous inquiries about the school being taken off; so I hope they get their act together quickly before she pisses off any more MUA Canadians .

Thanks for finding that info out for us Canucks! I was totally surprised that they were taken off the list. But as long as there's hope that MUA will be back on that list then that's good. It would have made sense if they had made sure the school was old enough before they added them to their approved list but I guess that would make too much sense LOL!

Anyway, thanks again. Truthfully any little will help (especially in my case right now).

I know that RBC has student line of credit specific for medical students (or in a professional program, other programs may be included as well). The most accurate way of finding out this information is to go to the bank's web page or call them. Bear in mind that although other banks may offer similar lines of credit, they may have more restrictions (ie. school must be in Canada, for example); that is another reason why checking with each bank directly is so important.
