There are ants, lizards, roaches, and those pesky mosquitoes.

Really, if your just keep your room clean, you dont have to worry. The only time they will try to go in your room is if you have food littered about your place.

Bring mosquito zappers. I brought one. It was a big help against the brigade of mosquitoes that constantly plan on how to invade your homeland

surge protector is a must, along with cable extensions...a printer would be good too cuz you'll be doing a lot of printing. LOTS and LOTS of bug spray and repellent, even a mosquito net if you can. and ant traps. i know ants are everywhere but traps do help. and if you gross out easily by smells, i'd suggest face masks for anatomy.

Generally speaking, what size bedsheets do you need to bring for the dorm beds?

Twin size sheets. Also dont bring comforters. too thick for the weather there and "space waster" on your luggage.

I was wondering, is it very expensive to get a desk lamp at Nevis, and is it very difficult to get? It just seems like bringing a desk lamp from home takes a lot of space in my already space limited luggages. =\

Just search through... ol'man had a post here about stuff to bring... It really depends where you'll be staying dorms or renting a house. My advise bring the necessities you will need for school. When you get there you will have an idea what to bring on your second term. School necessities will include: Laptop, surge protector, printer, thumb drive (1 gig at least), desk lamp, books, and whatever you might deem as necessities. Really you can get most of your basic stuff in the island. a little pricey, but you can get them there. If you stay at the dorms be sure to bring an long ethernet cord.

also as far as printer goes, no need to be fancy, trust me. A scanner is really not that needed. Walmart sells a realtively cheap one about 30 US. Be sure to bring lots of ink. you dont want to run out of ink while over there.
