Thread: which US BANKS to have

i was just wondering which us bank is great to have on the island im trying to open an account. i need a bank with great atm access.
wachovia, bank of america, sun trust or any bank u may think has good acess let me know

on the island of st.kitts and nevis

When I visited, my HSBC Online Savings account didn't charge me any fees when I withdrew from the RBTT or Scotiabank ATMs. None of the ATMs down there charged an up-front fee, either.

Never had any problems using my Bank of America card here.

i think pretty much any bank card will work down here.
they encourage you to get a local account at scotiabank, but it really isn't necessary.

so bank of america doesnt charge you any fees for using the ATMS down in Nevis?

Hi, I recall a similar thread a while ago...forgot to ask then, Which currency does the ATM machine dispense in St.Kitts and Nevis..is it EC or US$.

All funds will be given to you in EC, whether it's a bank machine or change at a store.

So it doesn't matter what bank you have in the U.S., they'll probably charge you a fee but the ATM's in Nevis will not? Because one fee will be a lot better than one!
