How many scrubs do we need?

What's a reasonable number to bring, that won't send me to the laundry every day? Is there a preferred style, color, manufacturer, etc? Where's the best online place to buy them?

What kind did you get? Is there a "common look", or does everybody do what they want? (One must be appropriately attired for this sort of thing, you know.)

I would suggest bringing about 3 or 4 pairs of scrubs so you can do laundry once a week instead of everyday or every other day. And there isn't a preferred style or colour, just pick your own style.

of course I have to add my 2 cents

I brought 3 sets, which worked out well since lab was on MWF afternoons. I thought it would be a really great idea to bring teflon-coated scrubs, just in case something landed on them. Unfortunately, I didn't count on the heat. I was BAKING in them. I don't know about normal scrubs. I was asking Dr. Z, and he suggested that if you don't have a medical supply store near you, you may want to check out www.allheart.com

I bought 3 sets and made sure they were not the cotton ones. Those ones get really hot. And like byteme said the teflon ones get pretty hot too. Just get the poly blends and you'll be straight.

just let you know... there is a difference between male and female scrubs; we had a student here who had female scrubs but didn't realize it; scrubs for females usually will have the rounded or square necks and the pockets in the front; the men's scrubs will have the v-neck; also on the pants.. get the ones that have pockets in the back so that you can place your wallets; there are cotton scrubs that are light in material; scrubs can be found not only in medical supply stores and online but at nursing stores; Also check with Sears retail stores and JcPenney stores... they may have scrubs at the stores or in their catalogs. And it's usually inexpensive and of good quality.
