    Help

My wife and I looking to attend MUAB. It seems to fit our needs. Spoke to Dr. Blackbird in the U.S. He is a graduate from MUAB via the former link with MUAN. Very informative but these communications issues with clerks is concerning. There has also been no posting from new students unlike several of the other carib. U's. Why is this?
Finally it would be nice to here from you clerks out their be you from MUNA on the now defunct St. Chris.

    Stay away!!

    Go to St. Matthews!

Or if you have a stellar CV go to ROSS or St. George.

There is no good reason to attend this school, as there are many other schools that far surpass it on all levels.

Huge recent warning flags...stories of students in clinicals not having the rotations paid for, the willingness of the owners/administration to get involved with a person who recently defrauded hundreds of St Chris students out of money, and the questions about how decietful administration really are when you listen to them address the St Chris students.

Other issues are not unique to this school, but should certainly lead you away. Issues such as zero outside recognition, no history of licensable graduates or residency placements, poor or non-existent reputation, etc...

Learn a lesson from the "now defunct St Chris" students. Go to a school that is well established, and that is not likely to give you headaches in the form of giving you a worthless or limited degree. Attend a school that at least has some semblance of student friendly administration, demonstrated by paying the clinical sites that you use with the tuition money you paid the school. Attend a school that has zero to very small risk of shutting down and leaving you in the cold. Attend a school that has demonstrated a product (ie a useful diploma) for sale that is worth the hundreds of thousands of dollars, and years of your life that you will be investing.

Choosing a medical school is the wrong time to be cutting corners. Go to a real med school, leave the start up schools to the guinea pigs and lab rats. You do not want to be another in a long line of students screwed and left hung to dry with huge debt and no degree thanks to a start up school.

    All the best

I have had some direct experience with the owner/operator of this school when he was part of St. Matthew's when St. Matthew's was still on Ambergris Caye, Belize. I strongly recommend that you consider any other option. I could provide further details of my experience, but I would prefer to do it through a PM.

    thanks

Appreciate the info. Wish there was more info from students. Lots of anger directed from outside. Any particular reason? Has DR. S offended other schools? If it was set up by Dr. Fredrick from SABA are there problems with his reputation? Has the Communication gotten better with the Clerks? None of us would be considering any of these universities if we had a choise. Some of the inclusion criteria are arbitrary at best. Thanks again keep writing, I'll be watching.

Hey buddy -- a rule of thumb..stay away from the school with problems..

Two colleages of mine at SGU were transferred from Belize...Both regretted having paid $70,000...Of course starting over at SGU will cost them even more, but at least they're happy with their choice...

Do a search on this forum and you'll see what I mean -- the honest opinions are out there...

    Good Luck!
